Maintenance Support Technician, Road Transport

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide on-site, mobile maintenance and technical support across assigned regions.
- Perform light repair and maintenance work on Class 8 tractors and trailers.
- Respond to field service needs and driver breakdowns within assigned region.
- Conduct equipment condition assessments and determine appropriate repair paths.
- Initiate service and repair work by diagnosing issues and developing repair estimates.
- Maintain company-provided tools, truck, and equipment in clean, safe operating condition.
- Serve as a mobile communicator and liaison between drivers, maintenance vendors, dispatch, and internal departments.
- Ensure driver concerns, equipment issues, and safety needs are accurately captured.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Class 8 truck and trailer mechanical experience or working knowledge required.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-A) required.
- Must have and maintain a valid in-state driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and perform light repairs safely and effectively.
- 2+ years of diesel, tractor/trailer, or fleet maintenance experience.
- Ability to learn and utilize maintenance management and service database systems.
- Basic understanding of DOT regulations and FMCSA compliance standards.
- Prior field service or mobile maintenance experience strongly preferred.
