About the role
- Review hazardous materials shipments to ensure proper classification, documentation, labeling, and placarding in accordance with DOT regulations
- Verify shipping papers and related documentation meet regulatory requirements
- Monitor driver qualifications, including HazMat endorsement status
- Support compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations
- Track and maintain hazardous materials registrations, permits, and compliance-related documentation
- Monitor regulatory updates and communicate relevant changes
- Maintain hazardous materials training records
- Assist in the investigation of hazardous materials incidents
- Maintain accurate compliance records
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in transportation safety, hazardous materials compliance, logistics, or a related field preferred
- Experience working within transportation, trucking, or logistics operations preferred
- Familiarity with Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR), DOT, and FMCSA requirements preferred
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review and interpret regulatory documentation
- Working knowledge of hazardous materials transportation regulations
- Strong organizational skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
