About the role
- Actively contribute to the Pricing Desk under the direction of the Director of Pricing & National Procurement
- Provide appropriate prices for DSV products and services to clients and for ad-hoc requests by applying department guidelines
- Deliver informed decisions regarding appropriate price points for various modes of transport (Air and Ocean) based on analysis of internal and external data and client needs
- Act as a liaison between Sales, Customers and Operations on pricing-related matters
- Identify opportunities to improve pricing and the profitability of existing accounts
- Analyze shipping volumes and revenue to determine the effectiveness and profitability of pricing strategies
- Negotiate competitive rates with transport providers for individual shipments or for trade lanes as required
- Create and maintain customer rates in CargoWise One
- Resolve 'Autorating' issues in coordination with Operations on CargoWise One, as needed
- May provide functional guidance, advice and/or training to less experienced members of the Pricing team
Requirements
- Post-secondary education in supply chain management, international trade or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in the international transport/freight industry
- Relevant industry certifications are considered an asset (e.g., CIFFA, APICS)
- Fluency in French and English, both spoken and written
- Ability to create collaborative engagement and demonstrate active listening
- Customer-service orientation and ability to resolve client complaints
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build professional relationships internally and externally
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, plan, prioritize and manage time effectively to achieve objectives and results
- Team player who promotes and supports teamwork
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Act as a role model for DSV values and adhere to the Code of Conduct
