About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Proactively promote a positive Health and Safety environment for employees
  • Provide administrative support on occupational safety and environmental, health and safety issues
  • Generate environmental and health and safety reports
  • Monitor trade effluent compliance and generate statutory reports
  • Execute departmental purchase requisitions
  • Maintain records properly
  • Develop AI processes to improve EHS efficiencies
  • Organize meetings for project reviews and presentations
  • Participate in cross-functional project work
  • Adhere to and enforce Environmental Health & Safety requirements on sites
  • Communicate concerns regarding environmental impact, health, or safety issues to the Manager
  • Develop process efficiencies and arrange employee assessments, including dosimeters, eye, audiometric, medical, and vaccination assessments
  • Manage EHS components in the LMS, including setup and ongoing management
  • Maintain and optimize EHS procedures, risk assessments, reports, and document filing
  • Schedule classroom and online training
  • Generate waste reports and track certificates of destruction
  • Generate reports and update EHS metrics
  • Assist with audit preparation, especially around ISO 14001 in the 16 affiliates, and work closely with other entities
  • Manage the contractor database
  • Maintain compliance with site and corporate Quality Management System requirements
  • Ensure Cook’s Code of Conduct is considered in business matters
  • Provide input to improve department operation and efficiency
  • Work independently and as a team member, referring questions and problems to the department supervisor and/or manager
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Relevant third level qualification and/or relevant experience desired
  • Two+ years’ experience in a similar role in a similar environment desired
  • Good written and verbal command of English and French
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of computer software, including AI
