About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Act as Convergint’s customer service provider and ensure customer satisfaction
- Take ownership of onsite projects, including safety, quality, and performance
- Install, program, test, troubleshoot, repair, and service security, intrusion, video, and life safety systems and equipment
- Provide technical support and customer training
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, wiring diagrams, and specifications
- Operate systems to demonstrate equipment, commission new systems, analyze performance, and identify malfunctions
- Write routine system programs and troubleshoot malfunctioning equipment or software
- Provide custom systems integrations, systems upgrade planning and execution, systems audits, consultation, and database management as needed
- Install, configure, and support network systems and equipment as needed
- Consult engineering personnel to resolve unusual system operation, maintenance, and warranty issues
- Comply with federal, state, and local regulations and company health and safety policies
- Advise management on customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards, and product improvements
- Assist with customer presentations and new business development activities
- Execute technical aspects of multiple projects, including programming, graphics development, startup, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and ongoing technical support
- Coordinate with the Service Supervisor, Field Project Manager, and/or Service Coordinator on projects
- Identify project risks and help develop strategies to minimize impacts and control cost and deadline deviations
- Perform other requested or required duties
Requirements
What you’ll need- Massachusetts D License and/or S License
- Solid technical skills and experience in electronic security and intrusion systems
- Solid programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and identify solutions
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to use hand and power tools, including drills, screwdrivers, wire strippers, hacksaws, and crimpers
- Ability to read blueprints and drawings
- Solid math skills, including calculating area, velocity, resistance, and voltage where applicable
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Solid organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Advanced computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Proficiency in other relevant applications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Ability to travel locally to jobsites regularly
- Minimal overnight travel may be required
