- Translate use cases and customer design needs/intents into design packages across Data Center security program platforms.
- Produce, coordinate, communicate -- preliminary and detailed design packages (plans, details/typical, device schedules, one-lines, Basis of Design (BOD)) aligned to client standards and best practices.
- Work with Partners to identify new and best technology to apply to solutions and designs.
- Identify project risks, special handling requirements, and potential solutions to address regulatory and customer expectations.
- Strong coordination within a design construction project – Understanding of Security Design needs and coordinate/communicate with other stakeholders, examples if standard coordination items – Turnstiles, Fire Alarm integration, Power/Electrical Requirements, MDF/IDF/MMR layouts, device elevations and placements, headend requirements, rack elevations, power/PoE/VLAN basics, pathways, grounding/bonding basics, and ceiling/clearance constraints.
- Participate in site surveys to confirm conditions (cages/perimeter, hot/cold aisles, mounting heights, other consultant alignment and ).
- Align and coordinate with other consultants including but not limited to (Div 8) (Div 26), Communications (Div 27), electrified hardware Specifications, structured cabling, networking/IT, facilities, and GC trades on interfaces and design responsibilities.
- Door Hardware reviews and coordination with GC and/or Door Hardware Consultants.
- Coordinate security system network backhaul paths, port counts, and network integration points with facility IT/network teams.
- Understand, develop, publish, and maintain BOD packages for data center customers (design philosophy, performance criteria, device selection and application, acceptance/commissioning criteria).
