Business Development Rep

• Identify and generate qualified leads in new energy storage and solar-plus-storage markets to support revenue targets.
• Complete due diligence on potential opportunities by effectively mine organizations, maps, social networks and other publicly available resources to identify appropriate prospects.
• Engage in daily outreach (cold calls, emails, LinkedIn messages, etc.) to find correct points of contact and convey Convergent’s value proposition over the phone and via email.
• Stay current on Convergent, the competitive landscape, and energy market trends.
• Monitor and report on outreach activity, lead generation, and opportunity pipeline to support data-driven decision-making.
• Maintain relationships with prospects and early-stage clients to ensure timely follow-up and engagement.
• Assist in preparing proposals, presentations, and other customer-facing materials to support the sales process.
• Participate in ongoing learning and development opportunities to deepen industry knowledge and sales skills.
• Keep our internal CRM up to date to reflect all call and contact details accurately.
• Lead discovery calls with customers and shadow senior sales professionals and actively contribute to discovery, proposal, and contracting processes. Support the overall Convergent mission by assisting with other teams’ functions, including sales and marketing initiatives, including tradeshows, targeted campaigns and team/company trainings.

Business Development Associate

Project Manager

• Support projects with internal stakeholders and external vendors through critical stages, including feasibility scoping, due diligence, permitting, budget and schedule development, and subcontractor/vendor agreement execution.
• Assist with all aspects of the project land development process and drive projects to their successful completion.
• Coordinate site due diligence activities, including gathering and analyzing technical data to assess site feasibility.
• Manage external consultants performing site studies, environmental reviews, and other technical evaluations.
• Review civil and environmental related studies and documents prepared by external consultants.
• Coordinate site walks, zoning/bylaws reviews, attend meetings with the state agencies, towns and other stakeholders, as well as present to planning/zoning boards, state and federal agencies.
• Travel as necessary to attend public meetings, with consultants and attorneys, to represent Convergent and each project by acting as the company’s representative and subject matter expert.
• Understand state and local land-use permitting requirements associated with new market entry.
• Manage the preparation and submission of permitting applications and track progress through approval.
• Monitor deadlines and coordinate efforts across team members to keep tasks aligned with the project schedule.
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to coordinate development activities, communicate progress, and efficiently hand off entitled projects.
• Develop project management skills including critical thinking, problem-solving, negotiation, cross-functional team management, effective communication, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
• Collaborate with senior team members to engage local stakeholders, including community members, government officials, and other key parties.

• Provide regular updates and status reports to senior team members, ensuring transparency and alignment across teams.
• Prepare reports and documentation as needed for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress by maintaining project documentation, tracking task completion and scheduling, and ensuring proper filing of project documents.
• Maintain organized records of project-related documents.
• Schedule and coordinate meetings with consultants, internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist in managing consultants and vendor contracts, including invoice tracking and payments.
• As needed, hold meetings with external consultants regarding scope of work simplification, cost reduction, and preferred vendor fee discount arrangements.
• Communicate on a regular basis with manager and team members, including in-person meetings held at the NYC headquarters as needed to foster strong collaboration amongst the Development team.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of consultants and service providers including title insurance, due diligence and permitting consultants, surveyors, and outside counsel.
• Hold external consultants to general norms of quality of work performed.
• Hold periodic project progress meetings with external consultants to track progress and any changes.

Senior Project Manager, Land Development

Financial Planning and Analysis

• Support capital raising activities including HoldCo/Mezzanine financing and non-recourse project financing such as debt (e.g., construction loan, term debt, back leverage), leases and tax equity for renewable energy battery storage, and other energy-related technology development projects.
• Assist the deal captain or serve as the deal captain to coordinate internal and external tax, accounting, and legal teams to develop appropriate transaction structures specifically related to tax-incentivized financing (utilizing expertise in capital accounts, basis, depreciation) and debt financings
• Assist with the deal-closing process, including coordinating reviews and approvals across multi-functional teams, to bring transactions to financial close under tight timeframes.
• Ability to review completeness and accuracy of detailed financial analysis and valuation models to evaluate the economic merits and risks associated with contracted / merchant revenue tariffs and/or off-take contracts with different financing options.
• Develop and maintain robust valuation methodologies with key defensible assumption driving the pro-forma financials, oversight of valuation at the project and overall portfolio level.
• Partner with deal captain, accounting, tax to implement hedging and other risk management strategies to mitigate embedded currency, rates, and commodity risks as appropriate.
• Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership to optimize financing structures and portfolio growth.
• Serve as a key liaison between internal teams (development, project execution, procurement, legal, tax, accounting, asset management) and external stakeholders, to ensure alignment on transaction goals and mitigating potential risks

Finance and Capital Markets Manager

Procurement

• Manage the EPC and services category procurement, lead commercial negotiations in support of project and organization objectives.
• Work with internal and external counsel to develop and manage equipment supply and vendor agreements to ensure that terms and conditions are in line with market expectations and align with all applicable project agreements.
• Manage RFPs to determine best-fit suppliers for construction services based on company objectives.
• Analyze bids and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, and contractual term criteria. Provide recommendations to senior management on supplier strategy.
• Collaborate with pre-construction, engineering, project management, asset management and business development teams to analyze procurement options and to assist in making equipment supply recommendations that best position Convergent’s pipeline of projects.
• Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct report(s) and follow Convergent’s performance review cycle, setting clear goals, evaluating outcomes, and addressing performance issues promptly and effectively.
• Work with People Operations to handle personnel matters with professionalism, including onboarding, growth, training, hiring, resolving conflicts and making informed recommendations on corrective actions, and staff transitions when necessary.
• Foster a positive team culture that embodies Convergent’s values.
• Facilitate management of contracts post-execution to ensure all obligations are administered and fulfilled on time, on budget, and per project requirements; ensure effective transition and handoff of contract activities to project management team.
• Maintain existing relationships with key equipment suppliers, manufacturers, integrators, emerging technology companies, etc., and endeavor to evaluate, establish, and cultivate new relationships with strategic partners.
• Develop procurement / supply chain initiatives in new markets and areas of operation in line with compliance, safety, and regulatory requirements, including qualifying and auditing suppliers in collaboration with technical and compliance teams.
• Analyze market trends and government/regulatory conditions and assess their impact on future activities to provide strategy recommendations to leadership.
• Attend tradeshows to make new relationships with potential vendors.
• Continue to build and enhance internal and third-party supported estimating capabilities for all solar and storage projects.

Director, Procurement

• The Director, Commercial and Industrial (C&I) Strategy role plays a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and executing a go-to-market strategy for Convergent’s C&I business line. That includes identifying relevant new market opportunities, working as a trusted partner with the sales team to drive our growth, and breaking down barriers to market success both internal and external to the company.
• This is an individual contributor role and therefore does not have any direct reports but will exercise informal mentorship and guidance to junior staff.
• Strategic Planning and Market Analysis (70%): Understand both corporate strategy and direction for C&I business line as laid out by Head of Strategy; Support growth and success of C&I business by designing and recommending new market opportunities as they become available; Present those recommendations to the Executive Committee and other senior leaders; Ensure Convergent is the leading storage provider to C&I customers; Maintain foundational knowledge and awareness of the market landscape; Assess market trends and competitors; Manage the launch of new products; Develop external collateral and train the sales team.
• Collaboration and Leadership (30%): Work with the C&I Sales team and other relevant departments to remove barriers to deal progression; Provide informal leadership and foster cross-functional collaboration by serving as a trusted partner with the sales team to drive growth and navigate complex organizational structures.

Director, Commercial and Industrial Strategy

• The Senior Director, Land Development oversees Convergent’s solar and storage development activities, leading the land development team by building an efficient and scalable development platform supported by all necessary internal and external resources, providing strategic guidance, establishing development goals and budgets, and continuing to successfully scale and mature the unit in accordance with the broader business goals. This role is the subject matter expert in all aspects of the project development process including due diligence, local AHJ and stakeholder engagement, entitlements, permitting, local tax/PILOT negotiations, title clearing, and interconnection.
• This people management role oversees one unit of 1-3 individual contributors who progress the company’s pre-construction pipeline of solar and battery storage projects from site acquisition through completion of entitlements.
• What You’ll Do
• Operational Oversight and Development (40%)
• Maintain and build a scalable and efficient land development platform, including but not limited to all required employee resources, standard operating procedures, processes/workflows, stable of trusted third-party consultants, software solutions, etc. to ensure timely, efficient, and risk-mitigated projects.
• Manage all aspects of the project land development process and drive projects to their successful completion.
• Continue to develop and implement the land development strategy for the growth objectives of the organization.
• Support the continued development of best practices by documenting your knowledge and experiences into lessons learned and ongoing procedures
• Track and help maintain the C&amp;I, RFP, M&amp;A, and greenfield development pipelines to ensure that projects are developed in a manner that minimizes risk, maximizes Convergent’s returns, and can attract cost-effective, efficient third-party debt and tax equity financing.
• People Management (40%)

• Collaborates with Business Development, Pre-Construction, Financial Operations, M&amp;A, Legal, and Engineering subject matter experts to deliver concise analyses, coordinate development activities and decisions, communicate progress and efficiently handoff entitled properties
• Manages and works collaboratively with sales and engineers on a regular basis to help them make decisions, plan, and solve problems.

Senior Director, Land Development

• Lead tax planning initiatives, including developing and executing strategies for tax equity structures while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Direct and oversee tax compliance activities, including the preparation and filing of income tax and other returns for the U.S., Canada, and Puerto Rico.
• Provide guidance on tax implications of acquisitions, transfers, divestments, and other complex transactions.
• Manage all relationships with external tax advisors and other third-party tax service providers.
• Build, maintain and analyze tax workpapers and other supporting schedules and documentation to ensure complete recordkeeping and compliance.
• Develop and document policies and procedures to formalize tax-related processes.
• Direct and coordinate preparation of the company’s annual tax provisions.
• Collaboration and Operational Management (30%)
