About the role

  • Digital Technology Solutions designs and builds innovative and intuitive digital products to satisfy the complex requirements of our clients.
  • The UX Design Intern will lead by example to set a high bar for design, helping UX Product Designers to drive innovation and inspire others to continually improve the design system and the overall customer digital experience across all areas of our business.
  • Support the creation and refinement of UI components, patterns, and guidelines within the design system.
  • Collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure components are usable, accessible, and consistent across products.
  • Contribute to design system documentation (usage guidelines, states, best practices).
  • Test and review component usability in real product contexts.
  • Explore and propose improvements to enhance scalability, accessibility and efficiency.
  • Audit and clean up design tokens (colours, spacing, typography) to ensure consistency across the system.
  • Work with engineers to improve design-to-code parity, and flag inconsistencies between Figma and front-end implementation.
  • Assist in maintaining the design system library and project folder structure in Figma, ensuring they are logically organised and easily accessible.
  • Producing low-fi sketches, wireframes, process flows, site maps, and pixel-perfect visual designs.
  • Tackling design problems autonomously while fostering ongoing collaboration.
  • Producing prototypes to support usability testing and discussions.
  • Presenting and articulating design ideas to cross-functional teams, and writing clear specifications for developers.
  • Driving the design process in collaboration with UX Product Designers.
  • Carry-out stakeholder research to understand client needs, run user tests and track digital trends, looking for ways to improve products.

Requirements

  • Excellent with Figma.
  • Proficient and practical experience of Microsoft Office tools.
  • A diverse portfolio that showcases design principles for complex digital platforms, demonstrating the process of design decisions and their rational.
  • Keen eye for detail and excellent proof-reading skills.
  • Strong interaction design, prototyping skills and proficiency in prototyping tools.
  • Ability to present confidently and with enthusiasm to internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Experience with user research, quantitative and qualitative, to find usability problem areas and opportunities for improvement.
  • Knowledge of design methodologies, techniques and tools.
  • Ability to plan your work and share progress.
  • Able to design for systems, not for screens in isolation – understanding that systems are complex even when they look simple.
  • Detail oriented but can zoom out for bigger picture thinking.
  • Able to travel to the office (Monument, London) 2 to 3 times every week.
  • Fluent in English.
Benefits
  • Control Risks offers a competitively positioned compensation and benefits package that is transparent and summarised in the full job offer.
  • We operate a discretionary global bonus scheme that incentivises, and rewards individuals based on company and individual performance.
  • As an equal opportunities employer, we encourage suitably qualified applicants from a wide range of backgrounds to apply and join us and are fully committed to equal treatment, free from discrimination, of all candidates throughout our recruitment process.
  • If you require any reasonable adjustments to be made in order to participate fully in the interview process, please let us know and we will be happy to accommodate your needs.
