About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor the status of all plant equipment and systems on a continuous basis
Respond to alarms by taking appropriate corrective actions
Execute plant shutdown and start-up procedures as required
Perform routine rounds of the facility inspecting all machinery thoroughly for potential malfunctions and/or failures
Maintain all logs and records as required to record complete operating conditions for the facility
Start-up and secure equipment under normal and emergency situations
Perform facility water chemistry tests and control treatment chemicals within recommended limits
Perform maintenance work as needed within individual skills and ability
Operate heavy equipment, including a boom truck, forklift, flatbed pickup truck, and/or other utility vehicles
Comply with facility environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need

A high school diploma or equivalent is required
A minimum of two (2) years operations experience
Ability to understand procedures and instructions, specific to the area of assignment
Maintenance experience in a process manufacturing or power production setting
Demonstrated ability to operate and maintain a power plant and related auxiliary equipment
Excellent verbal and writing communication skills
Must have excellent organizational skills
Ability to work well with others and be self-directed
Ability to use most common computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, etc. is desirable
Strong mechanical skills and the ability to perform routine maintenance on other electrical control equipment such as protective relays voltage regulators, inverters, battery charges, and crane controls is preferred.
