About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support faculty in providing a safe, organized, and effective hands-on learning environment
  • Monitor student activities in the laboratory and shop
  • Reinforce technical concepts and safety practices
  • Assist with demonstrations and lab activities
  • Help maintain shop equipment, tools, inventory, and parts to ensure instructional readiness
  • Assist the instructor(s) in instruction for classes assigned
  • Maintain standards of achievement and attendance records of students according to policies and procedures
  • Help identify where help can be provided to students
  • Maintain tutor schedules and keep current with developments and knowledge relating to course content
  • Work cooperatively with members of other departments and administration
  • Attend faculty meetings and in-service workshops as requested
  • Assist in monitoring student conduct and enforcing school policies and procedures
  • Provide clerical assistance to professional staff member(s)

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Associate’s degree (or two years post-secondary education) in related field or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and the ability to effectively apply technology to tasks and projects
  • Ability to contribute to a team environment while maintaining positivity and professionalism
  • Strong customer service skills that focus on creative problem solving
  • Time management skills that apply organization and prioritization demonstrating the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to obtain driver’s license and insurance coverage in accordance with College policy.
