About the role

  • Independently lead the payroll tax team (one to two direct reports, both technical and disciplinary responsibility)
  • Subject-matter expert in payroll tax with central responsibility for payroll tax special topics within the German sub-group (including Global Mobility)
  • Prepare payroll tax opinions (e.g., on severance payments, benefits in kind, global mobility issues, travel expenses)
  • Develop and implement policies and organizational instructions (e.g., in connection with Cross-Border Mobile Work, benefits in kind)
  • Central responsibility for the benefits-in-kind tool CITAX at German group companies and for its further development (cross-departmental, complex process)
  • Central responsibility for leading/coordinating German payroll tax audits, including associated key decisions
  • Interface role with the HR organization and the service provider Accenture (following the outsourcing of part of the HR organization) on payroll tax matters.

Requirements

  • University degree in economics/business administration or law
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of professional experience in industry or a (large) consulting firm; tax advisor qualification advantageous
  • Extensive experience in payroll tax
  • Experience with international assignments advantageous
  • Experience in process and project management
  • Good understanding of the interrelations between payroll tax, social security, VAT, and (transfer pricing)
  • Initial leadership experience advantageous
  • Very good German and good English, both written and spoken
  • Proactive approach and enjoyment of cross-functional project work
  • Above-average commitment, initiative, and assertiveness
