About the role
- Lead the development, review, and revision of organizational policies, procedures, and guidelines
- Ensure policies are aligned with current laws, regulations, and industry best practices
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., legal, compliance, risk, and operations) to draft and update policies
- Monitor changes in relevant regulations and laws to ensure policies remain compliant
- Implement new regulatory requirements into existing policies and procedures
- Advise management on policy implications related to regulatory changes
- Support the effective implementation of policies across the organization
- Develop curriculum and deliver training materials or programs to ensure employees understand new or updated policies
- Ensure policies are consistently applied across all departments and functions
- Work closely with senior management, department heads, and external stakeholders (regulators, industry groups) to gather input and feedback on policy development
- Provide expertise and guidance on policy-related matters to senior leadership and staff
- Monitor the implementation and adherence to policies within the organization
- Collaborate with internal audit, risk, and compliance teams to identify gaps or areas of non-compliance
- Recommend corrective actions when policies are not being followed or when gaps are identified
- Maintain accurate records of policy documents, revisions, and approvals
- Prepare reports for senior management or the board of directors regarding the status of policy implementation and compliance
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure their continued relevance and effectiveness
- Drive initiatives to improve organizational policies, ensuring that they meet both legal requirements and business objectives
- Review and approve marketing materials and evaluate customer-facing correspondence to ensure alignment with federal and state regulatory requirements
- Provide clear, actionable compliance guidance and feedback to business stakeholders
- Collaborate with Legal team to interpret new or changing regulations and translate them into practical communication standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Law, Public Policy, Risk Management, or related field required
- 2+ years of experience in policy management, compliance, legal, or risk management roles
- Certification in Compliance or Risk Management (e.g., CRCM, CCEP, or similar) is a plus
- Robust knowledge of relevant industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Exemplary research and analytical skills to assess regulations and their impact on policies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels
- Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in documentation
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively
- Ability to lead and influence teams and senior leadership in policy matters
- Creative thinking to resolve complex policy-related issues
- Ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of compliance and policy awareness
