About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the primary executive leader for the organization within the assigned state, accountable for strategy, growth, policy, programs, and relationships.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive state-level business development and growth strategy aligned with organizational mission, enterprise goals, and market realities.
- Partner with the Chief Growth Officer and peer State Senior Vice Presidents to ensure alignment on priorities, metrics, and enterprise-wide initiatives.
- Monitor and analyze state-specific healthcare market dynamics, regulatory developments, and competitive landscapes to drive strategic decision-making.
- Identify, pursue, and secure business opportunities, partnerships, and contracts across healthcare, data exchange, and social determinant of health (SDOH) domains.
- Oversee Sales, Account Management, Community Development, SDOH, and Government Affairs activities within the designated state.
- Lead and execute government affairs and public policy strategy, aligned with enterprise advocacy priorities.
- Cultivate and maintain executive-level relationships with state-based healthcare providers, payers, health plans, technology partners, community-based organizations, academic institutions, and government entities.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 10+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience in business development, government affairs, or public policy within healthcare, health IT, data exchange, or SDOH sectors.
- Strong preference for candidates with deep experience in the designated state and relevant regional government and healthcare environments.
- Extensive experience working with healthcare, state, federal, and tribal leaders, agencies and officials.
- Proven experience managing budgets, contracts, grants, and financial performance.
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Policy, or a related field required.
- Master’s Degree preferred (MBA, MHA, or Master’s in Public Policy or Healthcare Administration).
