About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Develop and provide technical support to field personnel and contractors for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system components
  • Research and prepare estimates, material requisitions, specifications, and drawings for internally designed projects
  • Make authoritative recommendations to troubleshoot complex technical problems involving electrical equipment and systems
  • Serve as lead engineer on design projects by checking contractor-submitted designs, issuing approved projects for construction, and participating in conceptual designs and layouts

  • Review and approve designs created by Engineers and Associate Engineers
  • Collaborate with engineers and departments on consulting, project management, resource organization, and maintenance
  • Generate internal and external reports on facets of the transmission system
  • Attend meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills
  • Provide technical guidance related to electric facility design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
  • ITC does not sponsor employment visas, including H-1B or TN visas
  • Expertise in substation installations, protective relaying systems, relay settings, and SCADA systems
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical equipment and system problems
  • Ability to prepare estimates, material requisitions, specifications, and engineering drawings
  • Ability to review and approve designs created by Engineers and Associate Engineers
  • Ability to provide technical guidance on electric facility design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting
