About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop and provide technical support to field personnel and contractors for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of system components
- Research and prepare estimates, material requisitions, specifications, and drawings for internally designed projects
- Make authoritative recommendations to troubleshoot complex technical problems involving electrical equipment and systems
- Serve as lead engineer on design projects by checking contractor-submitted designs, issuing approved projects for construction, and participating in conceptual designs and layouts
- Create designs for substation installations, protective relaying systems, relay settings, and SCADA systems
- Review and approve designs created by Engineers and Associate Engineers
- Collaborate with engineers and departments on consulting, project management, resource organization, and maintenance
- Generate internal and external reports on facets of the transmission system
- Attend meetings and training sessions to increase professional knowledge and skills
- Provide technical guidance related to electric facility design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be authorized to work in the United States for any employer
- ITC does not sponsor employment visas, including H-1B or TN visas
- Expertise in substation installations, protective relaying systems, relay settings, and SCADA systems
- Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical equipment and system problems
- Ability to prepare estimates, material requisitions, specifications, and engineering drawings
- Ability to review and approve designs created by Engineers and Associate Engineers
- Ability to provide technical guidance on electric facility design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting
