About the role
- Design and implement robust infrastructure using Python, S3, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Terramate, Ansible, Zarr, ArgoCD, Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFFs, STAC, PostGIS
- Collaborate closely with fellow cloud engineers and stakeholders from software, product, and image teams
- Design and implement key components of the Cloud-Native Geospatial Data Platform for efficient data acquisition, distribution, and analysis
- Manage cloud infrastructure supporting satellite operations, including tasking software, monitoring, and alerting systems
- Build, maintain, and evolve a state-of-the-art cloud environment that empowers engineering teams with tools, workflows, and methodologies
- Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies, frameworks, and standards
- Mentor and guide junior engineers to grow their technical expertise
- Support the Mission Operations team in safely controlling satellites
- Occasional travel to Germany for team meetings
Requirements
- A motivated, curious, and inquisitive team player with a can-do attitude, unafraid to challenge the status quo
- Embraces DevSecOps principles, infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, TDD
- Relevant professional experience building cloud environments in fast-paced and largely remote settings
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Solid experience with AWS, particularly S3, EKS, EC2, and IAM
- Fluent in English
- Nice to have: experience in the EO sector and/or NewSpace startups
- Nice to have: sysadmin, DevOps, and/or networking experience
- Nice to have: some experience in Cloud and Enterprise Security topics
- Ability and eligibility to work in Germany, France, or Belgium; occasional travel to Germany expected
