About the role
- Provides the necessary leadership to manage all operational aspects of the Casting business unit
- Responsible for coordinating safety, quality, productivity, reliability and continuous improvement for the Casting stream
- Reports directly to the Casting APU Manager
- Coordinates activities to achieve daily, weekly and monthly operating results for all production KPI’s
- Ensures Operations Team’s participation in all EHS processes as they apply to day-to-day activities
- Supports critical safety aspects including hourly employee safety performance & operation of equipment to standard practices for safe operation
- Supports key process and reliability functions through ownership of critical process input variables
- Ensures personal commitment to company policies, procedures, and regulations
- Leads in the Constellium “Manufacturing Excellence” context specifically driving workplace 5S Standard Operating Procedure development and execution
- Conducts daily, weekly & monthly standard & performance management routines
- Workshops to drive improvement in areas of responsibility
- Leads managers and supervisors to maximize operating team performance
- Coordinates daily, weekly, and monthly with Process, Operations, Reliability, & Supply Chain support resources to execute planned and unplanned activities with minimum disruption to daily operations
- Other items as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience in lieu of formal education will be considered in extraordinary circumstances
- 10 years of industry supervisory experience with at least 5 years direct chill aluminum industry, specifically Lean manufacturing and / or Lean Six Sigma knowledge & experience required
- Strong leadership and communication skills required
- Ability to manage in a union environment while maintaining compliance and productivity
