About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Central technical point of contact for demanding customers in high‑tech, future‑oriented industries
- Assess new and complex customer requests for technical feasibility and economic viability
- Provide technical support from the design and concept phase through to series production readiness
- Develop manufacturing strategies that are technically and economically optimal, including make‑or‑buy decisions
- Manage technical coordination between Sales, Production, Purchasing, Quality and Research & Development
- Assume final technical responsibility for complex products and assemblies
- Coordinate internal and external technical interfaces to ensure well‑founded decisions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed education in mechanical engineering (e.g., HTL, FH/University of Applied Sciences, or TU/Technical University)
- Several years of professional experience in design engineering, product development, or special/custom machine and plant engineering
- Practical experience in design/CAD, manufacturing or joining technologies (e.g., welding, bonding)
- Solid understanding of tolerances and technical feasibility
- Experience in project management or technical leadership of interdisciplinary teams
- Strong CAD skills
- Experience with PDM, PLM or ERP systems
- Structured, analytical and solution‑oriented way of working
- Strong logical reasoning skills
- High degree of personal responsibility, hands‑on mentality and confident presence as a technical interface
- German and English at business‑fluent/negotiation level
