About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Technical customer consultancy: Serve as the central technical contact for demanding customers in high-tech, future-oriented industries.
- Proposal assessment: Evaluate new and complex customer inquiries for technical feasibility and economic viability.
- Product development: Provide technical support from the design and concept phase through to series production readiness.
- Manufacturing strategy: Develop economically and technically optimal manufacturing strategies, including make-or-buy decisions.
- Interface management: Coordinate technical alignment between Sales, Production, Purchasing, Quality, R&D, and other departments.
- Product responsibility: Assume final technical responsibility for complex products and assemblies.
- Stakeholder coordination: Coordinate internal and external technical stakeholders to ensure well-founded decisions.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Technical education: Completed education in mechanical engineering, e.g., HTL (technical college), FH (university of applied sciences), or TU (technical university).
- Engineering experience: Several years of professional experience in design engineering, product development, or in special machine and plant engineering.
- Manufacturing understanding: Practical experience in design, manufacturing, or joining technologies with a solid understanding of tolerances and technical feasibility.
- Project competence: Experience in project management or technical leadership of interdisciplinary teams.
- System know-how: Strong CAD skills and experience with PDM, PLM, or ERP systems.
- Analytical strength: Structured, analytical, and solution-oriented working style with strong logical reasoning.
- Personal qualities: High sense of responsibility, hands-on mentality, and confident presence as a technical interface.
- Language skills: German and English at business-fluent/negotiation level.
