Senior Key Account Manager

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Strategic customer management: Support and development of existing key accounts and building long-term partnerships.
- Portfolio development: Identify revenue potential within existing customer relationships and sustainably expand the customer portfolio.
- Project acquisition: Identify new project opportunities with existing customers and support them through to successful completion.
- Quotation calculation: Prepare technically and commercially sound cost calculations and proposals.
- Customer consulting: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical and commercial customer inquiries.
- Interface management: Coordinate customer requirements with engineering, production, purchasing, and quality.
- Complaint handling: Support the handling of complaints together with internal departments.
- Forecast planning: Actively contribute to sales planning, forecasts, and budgeting processes.
- Market analysis: Analyze market movements, identify relevant trends, and conduct regular customer meetings in the DACH region.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completed training or degree in mechanical engineering, metal technology, mechatronics, nanotechnology, or a comparable qualification.
- Several years of experience in technical sales or key account management.
- Ability to understand, assess, and translate complex customer requirements into suitable solution approaches.
- Experience in quotation calculation and in a project-oriented B2B environment.
- Ideally experience in semiconductors, coatings, medical technology, or precision manufacturing.
- Confident demeanor and strong negotiation skills in an international customer environment.
- Fluent in German and English (business proficiency).
- Willingness to attend regular customer meetings in the DACH region on a moderate basis.
