About the role

  • As Head of Engineering, you are responsible for the entire development organization and report directly to executive management
  • You ensure stable product development while driving technological modernization
  • You establish an engineering culture with clear accountability, transparency and ownership
  • You develop Team Leads through clear expectations, coaching and regular feedback
  • You design the target architecture and steer a phased, realistic modernization
  • You ensure predictable releases across legacy and new platforms
  • You enforce mandatory architecture and engineering standards
  • You promote the targeted use of AI in engineering and product
  • You work closely with executive management, product, sales and other stakeholders, connecting strategy with execution

Requirements

  • Business-fluent German and English
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in an engineering environment
  • Several years of leadership experience in software development, ideally in an ISV (Independent Software Vendor) context
  • Proven experience in technology transformation projects (legacy to cloud/SaaS)
  • Deep understanding of software architectures, CI/CD, DevOps and testing
  • Clear communication, decisiveness and a strong drive to execute
