About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Deliver medium to large moderately complex service delivery projects for Connection sales subsidiaries
  • Create, control, and drive project execution using predefined project management lifecycle methodologies
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project communication
  • Ensure all project phases are followed
  • Assist clients and the sales team with pre-sales planning, scoping, scheduling, and determining project requirements
  • Mentor less experienced project managers
  • Develop project artifacts to deliver contractual services
  • Manage internal resources and third-party service providers
  • Manage project scope, budget, and schedule
  • Mitigate risks and issues and resolve escalated issues
  • Confirm milestone completions and ensure time and expenses are entered and validated
  • Update systems and the PMO Manager
  • Perform or oversee billing submissions
  • Close projects administratively according to methodology
  • Fulfill weekly status and portfolio reporting requirements
  • Travel may be required for project kickoffs, pilots, milestone reviews, or customer meetings

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
  • 7 plus years of progressive project management experience with IT professional services and third-party vendors
  • Experience leading projects across multiple teams, clients, and managing partners/vendors
  • Ability to identify, prioritize, resolve, and escalate risks and issues
  • Strong project management skills covering scope, budget, and schedule
  • Advanced organization and time management skills
  • Experience providing project status reporting and updates
  • Demonstrated project change management experience
  • Experience in project closure activities, including lessons learned and project survey
  • Ability to listen, anticipate customer needs, and manage expectations
  • Experience creating project artifacts including budget, roster, risk register, mitigation plan, schedule, and communication plan
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities, make sound decisions, negotiate, and maintain attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
  • PMP mandatory or ability to obtain PMP within first 6 months in the role
