About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Drive sales and expand business opportunities within targeted Federal Agencies across Civilian and DoW
- Support the federal sales team in the Washington DC Metro area
- Engage proactively in complex solution-based conversations at the C-Suite level to acquire new business for advanced solution sets
- Drive adoption of server, storage, networking, cloud, virtualization, cybersecurity, and services technologies
- Grow existing key account relationships and establish new client connections in assigned accounts
- Meet or exceed revenue and GP targets through account strategies and consultative sales
- Leverage client and strategic business partner/vendor relationships to achieve positive business outcomes
- Deliver Connection’s value proposition
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews
- Develop strategic project plans
- Provide updates on new offerings and services
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients and account managers
- Present to managers through C-Level stakeholders
- Represent Connection at customer and vendor events when requested
- Independently manage multi-step sales cycles
- Diagnose customer needs, link solutions to business problems, and adapt positioning by stakeholder
- Lead pricing, objection handling, negotiation, and close planning
- Produce proposals, follow-ups, executive summaries, business cases, and internal deal updates
- Lead discovery calls, demos, presentations, and customer meetings
- Maintain accurate pipeline, next steps, close dates, and deal risks
- Coordinate internal resources effectively
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience supporting Federal customers
- Understanding of FedRAMP, CMMC, NDAA, Supply Chain Security, and TAA compliance
- Advanced technical knowledge of IT and Original Equipment Manufacturing (OEM) vendors
- Knowledge of datacenter technology and solutions, including networking, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud, and Connection services offerings
- Demonstrated IT sales experience developing and growing customer accounts and meeting or exceeding sales goals
- Sound business development and account maturation skills
- Ability to proactively find or create business opportunities within existing and potential customer accounts
- Ability to qualify deals and manage time to maximize effectiveness and win rates
- Ability to communicate the state of technology and the “art of the possible” to stakeholders at many levels
- Ability to develop financial proposals for customers
- Proficiency managing resources and complex sales engagements involving multiple stakeholders
- Ability to obtain security clearance preferred; active security clearance not required
- Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
