About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Establish and lead an enterprise Business Intelligence and Decision Support program
- Direct Business Intelligence Analysts and translate organizational priorities into dashboards, scorecards, performance measures, and decision support solutions
- Align Business Intelligence resources through intake, prioritization, and governance processes
- Define key performance indicators, performance targets, and enterprise metrics with organizational leaders
- Support improvements in quality, patient safety, operational efficiency, financial performance, and regulatory compliance
- Establish standards for dashboards, scorecards, reports, data visualizations, standardized metrics, and a single source of truth
- Promote standardized reporting, self-service business intelligence, and data literacy
- Lead enterprise education, training, and adoption initiatives
- Provide executive leadership for enterprise data engineering, the Enterprise Data Warehouse, data integration platforms, Epic Cogito, and enterprise data architecture
- Develop and execute enterprise data strategy and oversee data warehouse design, implementation, optimization, and lifecycle management
- Direct ETL/ELT, APIs, interoperability solutions, data pipelines, and Epic/non-Epic data integration
- Govern enterprise data assets and Epic reporting content, including metric definitions, metadata, master data, lifecycle management, and change control
- Ensure data quality, integrity, consistency, availability, timeliness, privacy, and security
- Modernize enterprise data platforms using automation, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and advanced analytics
- Develop the enterprise vision, strategy, business case, governance framework, operating model, architecture, staffing model, and budget
- Advise senior leadership and partner with clinical, operational, financial, quality, research, and Information Solutions teams
- Establish enterprise performance management and data governance frameworks
- Recommend strategic investments and operational improvements using benchmarking, forecasting, and performance analysis
- Lead organizational coaching, mentoring, succession planning, employee engagement, professional development, goals, service levels, and continuous improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- BA or BS in Computer Science, MIS, Business, or another related field
- Minimum of 8–10 years working in data warehousing and Business Intelligence, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Demonstrated experience in continuous process improvement
- Demonstrated experience as an internal consultant to management and staff
- Knowledge of business intelligence, data engineering, and enterprise data management principles and practices
- Knowledge of healthcare clinical, operational, financial, and regulatory environments
- Knowledge of data governance, data stewardship, standardization, and data quality management
- Knowledge of enterprise data warehousing, data integration, and ETL/ELT methodologies
- Knowledge of Epic Cogito reporting ecosystem or comparable EHR-based reporting and analytics platforms
- Knowledge of healthcare data privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA
- Knowledge of emerging analytics technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
- Strong project management, organizational, presentation, facilitation, problem-solving, conflict-resolution, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform complex analytics, identify trends, interpret data, and drive business recommendations
- Ability to work with all organizational levels and external affiliated business partners
- Six Sigma certification preferred
