Speech/Language Pathologist
Connecticut Children'sSpeech-Language Pathologist at Connecticut Children’s treating pediatric patients with speech and language disorders. Engaging in diagnostic and rehabilitative services across various care settings.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Screen, identify, diagnose, intervene and follow-up for disorders of articulation, fluency, and voice.
- Support and consult to all professionals, family members and other communication partners.
- Select, fit and establish effective use of appropriate prosthetic/adaptive devices.
- Use instrument technology to diagnose and treat disorders of communication and swallowing.
- Provide aural rehabilitation and related counseling services to individuals with hearing loss and their families.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology or equivalent is required.
- Three years experience in pediatrics and/or hospital setting is preferred.
- State of Connecticut Speech Pathologist License required;
- Current Certificate of Clinical Competency issued by the American Speech Language Hearing Association within one year of hire.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR in adult, child & infant within 6 months of hire.
- Knowledge of theories, principles, techniques & practices of professional speech-language pathology.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Knowledge of ICD-9 and CPT medical billing codes.
- Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality requirements for medical records.
