About the role

  • Reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Events, the Manager, Philanthropic Events will collaborate with the events team and the Foundation staff to develop and execute third-party and signature fundraising events which benefit Connecticut Childrens Medical Center Foundation, including coordinating event logistics, working closely with event leadership and volunteers, creating content for pre and post event website, email and social media communications and ensuring accurate reporting of event revenue and expenses.
  • Coordinates event logistics, including the procurement of necessary permits, events supplies, incentives and giveaways.
  • Define, maintain and report accurate revenue and expenses.
  • Secure, manage and steward event committees and committee leadership, including preparing meeting materials and annotated agendas, assisting with mailings, scheduling meetings, taking and distributing event committee meeting notes, and tracking actions in Raisers Edge. 
  • Identify and solicit appropriate volunteer and staff support. 
  • Solicit and manage the acceptance and recognition of monetary donations, in-kind gifts and sponsorships. 
  • Write correspondence, acknowledgments, briefings and talking points for donors, EMT, committees and speakers. 
  • Create content for event collateral, registration platform and pre and post event website, email and social media communications. 
  • Assist Director of Philanthropic Events with planning and execution of Connecticut Childrens Medical Center Annual Gala. 
  • Provide tours of the Medical Center to donors and event leadership upon request. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree and minimum of four years of experience in fundraising, managing an event portfolio, which raises in excess of $500,000 annually. 
  • Knowledge of Raisers Edge or comparable donor database. 
  • Drivers license and clean driving record required
