About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Lead CONMED’s global information technology organization and serve as a key enterprise leader responsible for building, enabling, and operationalizing technology capabilities that support the business today and prepare the company for future growth.
Serve as a trusted partner to the EVP and Executive Leadership Team, aligning IT priorities with enterprise business needs.
Position IT as a business enabler, proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance, decision-making, and outcomes through technology.
Own enterprise third-party technology relationships, overseeing vendor selection, negotiation, contracting, and governance for critical platforms and partners (e.g., Windchill, SFDC, SAP, KPMG), ensuring alignment to business needs, cost discipline, and service quality.
Define what “scale-ready” means for CONMED and guide the organization toward it over time.
Ensure the reliability, security, compliance, and performance of all IT systems, infrastructure, applications, and data.
Maintain strong cybersecurity and data privacy practices, clearly communicating risks, controls, and tradeoffs to executive leadership.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field required; advanced degree strongly preferred.
15+ years of progressive IT and leadership experience, including executive-level responsibility in a complex organization.
10+ years of experience leading IT in regulated environments (medical device, healthcare, life sciences, manufacturing, or similar) strongly preferred.
Extensive experience managing and negotiating enterprise level vendor relationships.
Demonstrated success building and maturing IT capabilities, not just scaling mature organizations.
Strong understanding of enterprise systems, cybersecurity, data, integration, and IT operations.
Proven ability to operate effectively amidst ambiguity and evolving organizational structures.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and credibly to executive and non-technical audiences.
