About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • This is a hands-on Software Engineer role on one of Confluence’s largest products — where you’ll help modernise a market-leading platform and shape how we bring emerging AI capabilities into production.
  • You’ll be integrating LLMs and agent-based workflows into real products — not legacy maintenance.
  • You’ll get genuine exposure to problems where only a few people currently have the answers, with the support to figure them out alongside experienced lead engineers.
  • You’ll join a highly collaborative team where engineers, product owners, QAs and project and product managers all help each other, with continuous learning and knowledge-sharing built into how we work.
  • For ambitious people, there’s real room to grow — we actively move people into the right places to progress.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong .NET / C# development experience — the core of the role
  • Designing and implementing RESTful APIs and service-oriented architecture
  • A solid understanding of software design patterns and scalable architecture
  • Experience working in agile development environments
  • Demonstrated use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. LLMs and coding assistants) to accelerate delivery and improve quality — and the ability to talk about how you’ve applied AI in practice
  • Working knowledge of modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React)
  • Familiarity with modern DevOps and CI/CD practices
  • A self-starter and quick learner, comfortable working through new problems
  • Around 2+ years’ professional software engineering experience, with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience
  • Nice to have:
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Azure
  • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and broader DevOps knowledge
  • Python for automation or AI workflows
  • Experience with LLMs, prompt engineering or agent-based systems
  • Experience with containerisation
  • Experience building or optimising developer-productivity tooling
