About the role
- Apply on-page SEO best practices including keyword optimization, metadata, heading structure, internal linking, readability, and structured data markup (Schema.org) to improve search visibility and enable rich results.
- Optimize content for both traditional search engines and AI-driven platforms (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews) by ensuring clear, authoritative, and well-sourced information that can be accurately summarized and cited.
- Structure content to support defined conversion goals such as event registrations, downloads, contact inquiries, and membership actions while maintaining natural language patterns that perform well in voice search and conversational queries.
- Conduct routine content audits to identify optimization opportunities, content gaps, and pages at risk of losing visibility to AI-generated answers.
- Recommend updates that add unique value, original research, or expert perspective.
- Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, page speed, and mobile experience as ranking factors, coordinating with development teams on technical improvements.
- Track search landscape changes including algorithm updates, new SERP features, and the growing influence of AI answer engines.
- Adapt content strategy to maintain visibility across evolving discovery channels.
- Maintain SEO/AEO/GEO standards across all content updates, ensuring consistent implementation of best practices while building topical authority and E-E-A-T signals (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trustworthiness).
- Execute and coordinate content updates across websites, including page copy revisions, metadata updates, internal links, and calls-to-action.
- Manage incoming internal content requests and prioritize updates based on impact and project timelines.
- Ensure editorial consistency, tone, clarity, and messaging alignment across website content.
- Perform quality assurance checks after updates to confirm correct implementation, functioning links, and accurate content display.
- Provide guidance on content hierarchy and page structure to improve clarity and scanability (e.g., section ordering, above-the-fold content priorities).
- Recommend improvements to content modules, page layouts, or recurring patterns based on performance trends and stakeholder needs.
- Collaborate with web and development colleagues to implement content and visual design improvements.
- Monitor and report on performance indicators connected to content efforts, such as search visibility, engagement metrics, and CTA interactions.
- Use performance insights to recommend future optimization opportunities and content updates.
- Analyze website analytics and search performance data to measure progress against key performance indicators (KPIs) such as organic traffic, keyword rankings, click-through rates, and conversion metrics.
- Use insights to inform content priorities and demonstrate continuous improvement over time.
