About the role

  • Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise middleware platforms such as WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, MuleSoft, or similar
  • Lead platform modernization initiatives (containerization, cloud migration, performance tuning)
  • Maintain and support Cobol Systems
  • Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability of middleware environments
  • Oversee patching, upgrades, security hardening, and compliance requirements
  • Design and govern enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines
  • Implement pipeline-as-code and reusable deployment frameworks
  • Standardize automated deployments across environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod)
  • Integrate DevSecOps practices (security scanning, policy enforcement)
  • Lead containerization of middleware-hosted applications using Docker & Kubernetes/OpenShift
  • Design deployment patterns for hybrid and multi-cloud environments (Azure)
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation
  • Drive root cause analysis and performance optimization initiatives
  • Improve platform SLOs, uptime, and deployment success rates
  • Partner with Dev, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to streamline release processes
  • Define middleware and CI/CD standards, governance, and documentation
  • Mentor engineers and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in middleware/platform engineering
  • Deep expertise in at least one enterprise middleware stack (WebLogic/JBoss/WebSphere/etc.)
  • Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
  • Proficiency in scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Groovy, PowerShell)
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
  • Experience with artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory)
  • Solid understanding of networking, load balancing, SSL/TLS, DNS
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation
  • Version Control: Git-based workflows
  • Security Scanning: Snyk, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Trivy, etc.
  • Secrets Management: Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault
