About the role
- Architect, deploy, and manage enterprise middleware platforms such as WebLogic, JBoss, WebSphere, Tomcat, Apache, MuleSoft, or similar
- Lead platform modernization initiatives (containerization, cloud migration, performance tuning)
- Maintain and support Cobol Systems
- Ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability of middleware environments
- Oversee patching, upgrades, security hardening, and compliance requirements
- Design and govern enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines
- Implement pipeline-as-code and reusable deployment frameworks
- Standardize automated deployments across environments (Dev, QA, UAT, Prod)
- Integrate DevSecOps practices (security scanning, policy enforcement)
- Lead containerization of middleware-hosted applications using Docker & Kubernetes/OpenShift
- Design deployment patterns for hybrid and multi-cloud environments (Azure)
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation
- Drive root cause analysis and performance optimization initiatives
- Improve platform SLOs, uptime, and deployment success rates
- Partner with Dev, QA, Security, and Infrastructure teams to streamline release processes
- Define middleware and CI/CD standards, governance, and documentation
- Mentor engineers and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives
- Evaluate and recommend new tools and technologies
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in middleware/platform engineering
- Deep expertise in at least one enterprise middleware stack (WebLogic/JBoss/WebSphere/etc.)
- Strong hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps)
- Proficiency in scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Groovy, PowerShell)
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems administration
- Experience with artifact repositories (Nexus, Artifactory)
- Solid understanding of networking, load balancing, SSL/TLS, DNS
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Ansible, ARM, CloudFormation
- Version Control: Git-based workflows
- Security Scanning: Snyk, SonarQube, Checkmarx, Trivy, etc.
- Secrets Management: Vault, AWS Secrets Manager, Azure Key Vault
