Key responsibilities & impact
  • Leading engineers – You take end-to-end responsibility for performance management: regular 1:1s, candid feedback, individual development plans — and the difficult conversations that come with genuinely helping people grow.
  • Delivery, quality and flow – You are responsible for your teams' outcomes: predictable delivery, clear quality standards, and outcome KPIs which you help define and consistently track.
  • Operating model – You establish the routines, processes and guardrails (engineering standards, security, compliance) that enable your teams to work effectively — and ensure they are actually followed.
  • Prioritization and focus – You help your teams find the right balance between speed, quality, scope and impact. You translate product and company strategy into concrete engineering priorities — and protect focus when it matters.
  • Leadership-level contribution – You bring technical and delivery-related topics to the leadership agenda. You are an active member of the tech leadership team and help shape Conceptboard's technical direction.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • You have driven performance management, growth and hiring independently — including creating job descriptions, conducting interviews and managing all related tasks.
  • You do not shy away from difficult conversations; you see them as part of your job.
  • You have a strong sense for team structures and know how to build teams that actually execute strategic priorities rather than merely maintaining the status quo.
  • You can demonstrably build sustainable engineering operating models from the ground up — experience in turning around teams is essential.
  • Leading already well-functioning teams is the easy part. You actively seek responsibility for the engineering culture — the practices, standards and routines.
  • You have sufficient technical expertise to speak with engineers as a peer, to weigh trade-offs confidently and to recognize when things are heading in the wrong direction — without needing to be the best engineer in the room.
