About the role
- Part of a team of IT professionals supporting the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Command, Control, and Communications (C3) office
- Provide project management expertise across communications projects and programs responsible for emergency operations restoration
- Install, configure, and maintain on-premises SharePoint multi-server farms with high availability and disaster recovery
- Update and redesign SharePoint websites; perform front-end design and development for on-premises SharePoint
- Administer SharePoint sites, site collections, Web Applications and perform migrations and software upgrades
- Use PowerShell for content management and perform platform maintenance, backups, and troubleshooting
- Interface with clients to document project requirements, provide status updates, and develop project plans
- Coordinate with Infrastructure and Security/Compliance Team Leads to meet cross-functional requirements
- Develop briefings and requirements documents and maintain high standards of software quality
- Support IT projects and periodic travel to FAA HQ in Washington, DC as required
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, math, or science related degrees
- 5 or more years of relevant experience
- 8 years applicable specialized experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree
- Demonstrated experience/knowledge installing and configuring on-premise SharePoint using multi-server farms configured for high availability and disaster recovery to remote sites
- Experience/knowledge with SharePoint website redesigns
- Update websites when required including redesigning and customizing
- Perform front-end design and development for on-premises SharePoint
- Knowledge of SharePoint administration and site migration through software upgrades
- Experience/knowledge with implementation of multiple authentication sources, AD FS and Claims configuration front end design
- Experience working Central Admin, Managed Services in SharePoint 2016 or 2019
- Administration of SharePoint sites, site collections & Web Applications in SharePoint 2019
- Working knowledge/understanding of servers, load balancers, firewalls, AD and AD Domains, Claims, Kerberos
- Experience using PowerShell to manage and manipulate the content
- Performing maintenance of the SharePoint platform, servers, and intranet
- Troubleshooting and resolving SharePoint issues or malfunctions
- Performing data retrieval and backup procedures to prevent data loss
- Ensuring sufficient storage space by performing clean-ups and archiving data
- Maintaining network infrastructure, managing encryption, security zones, and firewalls
- Keeping up to date with SharePoint developments and performing version updates and upgrades
- Good Understanding of content Database, upgrades, migration, disaster recovery
- Ability and willingness to support IT projects, as require
- Periodic travel to FAA HQ (WDC) required
