About the role

  • Provide systems engineering and technical support services for the FAA Systems Engineering and Technical Support Services (SETTS) Program
  • Support FAA Air Transportation Support activities across operational locations
  • Research and Development (R&D) support may also be required
  • Develop high-quality systems engineering documentation across the system lifecycle
  • Support Air Transportation operational locations including: Facility maintenance and remediation, System modifications and upgrades, Equipment repair and sustainment activities
  • Develop and maintain systems engineering artifacts including but not limited to: Concept of Operations (CONOPS), Functional Requirements Documents (FRD), Verification Requirements Traceability Matrices (VRTM), Operational Services and Environment Definitions (OSED)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional FAA stakeholders and technical teams
  • Provide clear technical documentation and program planning support

Requirements

  • Knowledge of or experience with the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS)
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture and Unified Architecture Framework (UAF)
  • Strong data analysis capabilities
  • Working knowledge of probability and statistics at the undergraduate level
  • Advanced spreadsheet modeling skills in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Technical writing experience using Microsoft Word
  • Experience supporting program planning and execution
  • Aviation experience as a pilot or air traffic controller (preferred)
  • Knowledge of Systems Modeling Language (SysML) (preferred)
  • OMG SysML certification (preferred)
