About the role
- Design, implement, and manage robust VMware virtualization infrastructures
- Optimize server performance through advanced configuration and monitoring techniques
- Ensure high availability of critical systems
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to server performance and virtualization platforms
- Provide training and support for technical supporters
- Follow IT security best practices
- Analyze user requirements and develop functional specifications for complex systems
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and architectural diagrams
- Participate in on-call rotation and support incident/problem resolution
- Collaborate with other IT infrastructure teams on cross-functional projects
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology
- VMware VCP, VCAP or VCIX Certification preferred
- 10+ years of experience in systems engineering with VMware technologies
- Familiarity with server OS (Windows/Linux) and data disaster recovery strategies
- Advanced hands-on experience managing large enterprise VMware vSphere environments
- Knowledge in administering hardware issues on Dell VxRail and Cisco UCS infrastructures
- Basic troubleshooting with NSX and expertise with VMware Aria Suite
- Experience with virtual server administration in a large (500+) server environment
- Strong understanding of enterprise storage, networking, and data center operations
- General understanding of Active Directory and Group Policy administration
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell/PowerCLI, Python, etc.)
- Experience with VMC on AWS is a bonus, not a requirement
