About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting activities for capital projects
- Partner with cross‑functional teams including engineering, project management, operations, and other internal stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and governance requirements
- Draft requests for information and requests for proposal (RFP)
- Identify and recommend innovative or alternative sourcing strategies and supplier options
- Establish and lead supplier relationship management initiatives within the capital supplier base
- Research market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend
- Resolve supplier and internal stakeholder issues
- Manage supplier performance by tracking key performance indicators
- Build and maintain positive, productive, and collaborative relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal partners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree
- 7+ years of experience in procurement
- Experience in construction and equipment procurement
- Broad understanding of capital equipment and the construction industry
- Contract law knowledge, including review and interpretation of statements of work, engineering drawings, and technical specifications
- Experience negotiating large purchases and complex technical requirements
- Demonstrated success managing competitive sourcing events and single‑source procurements
- Experience independently managing multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines
- Intermediate Excel experience and ERP, enterprise resource planning system experience
