About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support, monitor and oversee the implementation of the risk management framework within the UK Entity and the Global Plans business line.
- Partner with specific business stakeholders to ensure that risks are identified, assessed, and treated in line with the globally set risk appetite.
- Oversee the operational element of risk management.
- Support the implementation of strategic risk projects, acting as advisor and consultant to businesses and championing risk management.
- Responsible for the independent 2nd line risk coverage for the UK Entity and the Global Plans business line.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous experience of risk advisory, legal, audit or compliance.
- Full understanding of the three lines of defence.
- Successful experience of being a risk manager.
- Good knowledge of the operational, financial and regulatory complexities impacting the business.
- Proven experience in risk management policies, processes, and tools.
- Background in leading and delivering risk and control assessments.
- Demonstrated ability to perform process analysis and designing controls.
- Strong analytical thinking skills, ability to research and understand complex processes and effectively communicate them to senior management.
- In-depth understanding of the Plans and Issuer business lines.
- Extensive experience of working within management, with mid-to senior level stakeholders.
- Personal integrity, the ability to lead a small team and management of specific tasks and activities.
- Ability to work under pressure and within strict deadlines, managing changing and conflicting priorities.
- Capable and confident in playing a significant role in contributing to the deployment of a Global Risk programme.
- Gravitas and the capability to provide constructive challenge to the business and ensure risks are addressed appropriately.
- Developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to foster collaborative working relationships.
