Principal Software Engineer – Salesforce

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Develop, customise, and extend Salesforce applications using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Visualforce, Flows, and platform configuration
- Build integrations (inbound & outbound) following platform guardrails and best practices
- Translate functional requirements into robust technical solutions
- Produce technical documentation including technical design specs, data models, and integration patterns
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across environments
- Build unit tests and ensure adherence to Salesforce coding standards
- Support release cycles managed via CI/CD, ensuring code quality through Gearset/Pipelines
- Participate in backlog refinement, sprint planning, estimation, and reviews
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners, Functional Consultants, Architects, testers and Admins
- Support prototyping, fit-gap analysis, and impact assessment for new features and seasonal releases
- Work with the Technical Lead and Architects on scalable solution designs
- Engage with cross-functional teams following the operating model practices referenced in CC Salesforce governance materials
- Identify opportunities to optimise the platform, automate processes, and introduce innovative designs
- Stay current with new Salesforce features, best practices, and industry trends
Requirements
What you’ll need- Strong hands-on experience with Apex, LWC, SOQL/SOSL, Salesforce APIs
- Experience working on complex Salesforce orgs with multi-cloud components
- Proven track record developing secure, scalable, and performance-optimized solutions
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Gearset, Copado, or Azure DevOps
- Experience with Salesforce CPQ, RCA and/or Marketing Cloud Account Engagement
- Knowledge of middleware (MuleSoft, Informatica) and broader integration patterns
- Familiarity with Salesforce Data Cloud and AI capabilities
- Salesforce Platform Developer I (required)
- Salesforce Platform Developer II (preferred)
- Additional certifications (Admin, CPQ Specialist) beneficial
