Collaborate with designers to implement responsive, aesthetically pleasing, and user-friendly interfaces
Suggest and implement design optimizations that improve usability, speed, and performance
Exercise independent judgement to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve UI/UX-related bugs, improving the overall user experience
Assist in the organization’s initiatives to improve design systems, web usability, and web accessibility
Audit current web applications for accessibility issues and work to implement timely fixes; ensure compliance with WCAG and other relevant accessibility standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, document, and implement usability and accessibility guidelines and best practices
Work with vendors to perform third party accessibility testing and prepare accessibility reports that can be shared with customers (e.g. VPAT, ACR)
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies related to front-end development
Develop, test, and maintain clean, scalable, and efficient code for UI components and web features
Collaborate with the back-end development team to ensure smooth integration of front-end solutions
Assist in defining and improving the organization's front-end development strategy and tools
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Web Development, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
Minimum of 2+ years of web development experience, with a strong portfolio of successful UI/UX work
Solid understanding of UI/UX principles, including responsive design and usability best practices
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Proven experience as a Front-End Developer or UI/UX Developer with a focus on web accessibility
Strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript (ES6+)
Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript, including building components, directives, and services
Experience translating Figma and Adobe XD mockups into pixel-perfect, functional web interfaces
In-depth knowledge of web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2, ARIA, etc.) and experience implementing them in real-world applications
Familiarity with front-end build tools and version control systems (e.g., Webpack, Git)
Experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS, LESS) and modern CSS frameworks
Knowledge of browser compatibility issues and solutions
