About the role
- Deploy and maintain network infrastructures using Cisco routers and switches.
- Configure and optimize routing protocols (OSPF, BGP) and switching features (VLANs, STP).
- Implement and manage Cisco Meraki wireless networks, including AP deployment, SSID configuration, and cloud dashboard integration.
- Design and maintain Cisco ISE in complex environments aligning with security best practices.
- Manage Palo Alto firewalls, including rule creation, policy optimization, and Panorama for centralized control.
- Configure and manage Cisco Umbrella for DNS-layer security and threat intelligence integration.
- Administer Proofpoint Email Security to detect and mitigate spam, phishing, and malware threats.
- Resolve connectivity issues involving Cisco devices, VXLAN overlays, firewall rules, DNS resolution, and email delivery.
- Perform routine maintenance including backups, patching, and capacity planning.
- Monitor network performance and security using integrated tools across Cisco, Palo Alto, Umbrella, and Proofpoint.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, security policies, and procedures.
- Work closely with IT teams and vendors on deployments and support.
- Respond to incidents promptly, conduct root cause analysis, and implement remediation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or a related field of study.
- 5+ years of experience in Cisco routing and switching technologies.
- Experience with firewalls and centralized management systems (e.g., Palo Alto, Panorama).
- Experience in wireless environments (Cisco Meraki).
- Experience with network security best practices.
- CCNA (current).
- Ability to administer routers, switches, and network monitoring applications.
- Ability to integrate and troubleshoot networking technologies and read logs/alerts.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting complex network and security issues.
- Combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Must be a self-learner and have a positive attitude towards problem resolution.
