About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

As a Senior Consultant / Manager Software Asset Management / Cloud FinOps, you advise large corporate clients and major mid-sized companies on the most cost-effective licensing options and on the efficient use of cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)
Possible project tasks may include: assessing the maturity of software asset and license management and/or Cloud FinOps
Introducing Software Asset Management roles and processes
(License) requirements analysis, contract preparation and negotiation of software license agreements
Optimizing ongoing Software Asset Management (SAM) operations
Establishing Cloud FinOps roles and activities
Reporting on and optimizing license and cloud costs
Delivering training on Software Asset Management and Cloud FinOps
You will regularly exchange insights with our other SAM and Cloud FinOps experts on market developments and share your knowledge with colleagues

Requirements

What you’ll need

Completed commercial or technical vocational training (e.g., IT systems specialist) and/or a Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably in (business) computer science, economics, business administration, social sciences or natural sciences
Several years of practical experience in consulting or a line role in Software Asset Management / license management / software vendor management / software contract management / Cloud FinOps
Knowledge and experience in applying licensing terms in practice for at least one of the following vendors: Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, VMware (Broadcom)
Experience in managing and implementing Software Asset Management projects
Experience with common SAM tool solutions on the market (USU, Snow, Flexera, ServiceNow) is desirable
Knowledge and experience in Cloud FinOps (e.g., framework, FOCUS datasets, tooling, provider-specific knowledge of AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
Knowledge of Cloud FinOps tools (e.g., Apptio Cloudability, CloudHealth, Flexera Cloud Cost Optimization, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing Console) is desirable
Strong analytical mindset and a good understanding of business and financial contexts and figures
Experience in business case and scenario calculations (TCO / TVO) for licensing strategies
Experience supporting negotiations with software vendors or resellers
Goal-oriented, independent working style with a team-player mentality
Very good German and English skills (written and spoken)
Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (creating management presentations in PowerPoint, data analysis in Excel)
