About the role

  • Responsible for modeling values of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Teamwork, and Innovation.
  • Promotes the Compassus philosophy and uses the 6 Pillars of Success as the foundation.
  • Directs and manages the interdisciplinary team in meeting the needs of hospice patients and families.
  • Communicates patient information to the business office and promotes positive relationships with the family and physician.
  • Floats to regional programs based on need and provides Hospice Director of Clinical Services functions.
  • Mentors, coaches, and educates team members and assists in absences in regional programs.
  • Directly supervises up to 20 team members temporarily as needed.
  • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, and terminating staff.
  • Analyzes and reports on quality metrics including Hospice Item Set and symptom management outcomes.
  • Establishes departmental goals consistent with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Participates in performance improvement programs.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years in healthcare required, preferably in a nursing facility, home health or hospice setting.
  • Experience in leadership or management strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Electronic Medical Record systems a strong plus.
  • Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in state(s) of employment, in addition to every state in the Region this role will be covering required.
  • Certification in Hospice and Palliative Nursing a plus but not required.
