  • Acts as an advocate to raise the awareness of the needs of children

  • Reports any concerns of abuse, neglect or exploitation of children through Compassion’s internal reporting process and appropriately supports responses to incidents if they occur
  • Lead user research initiatives, including defining research objectives, conducting in-depth interviews and usability tests, and synthesizing insights to inform strategic design decisions
  • Drive the creation and evolution of Compassion’s digital experiences, designing intuitive and engaging solutions across web and mobile platforms
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams (Product, Engineering, Marketing) to shape UX strategies that align with business objectives
  • Take ownership of complex design projects, leading design sprints and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
  • Contribute to and optimize Compassion’s design system, ensuring scalability, accessibility, and usability across digital products
  • Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design, implementing WCAG standards and championing best practices across teams
  • Mentor and support junior UX team members, providing guidance, design critique, and professional development opportunities
  • Stay at the forefront of UX trends and emerging technologies, proactively applying best practices to enhance Compassion’s digital experiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Graphic Design, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • 7-10 years of experience in UX/UI design, user research, or a related field, with a proven track record of leading UX initiatives
  • Advanced proficiency in UX/UI design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD, with experience creating complex interactive prototypes
  • Deep experience in user research methodologies, including qualitative and quantitative research, usability testing, and A/B testing
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally, working closely with product managers, developers, and marketing teams to create impactful user experiences
  • Extensive experience contributing to and optimizing a design system, ensuring consistency and scalability in design components
  • Strong knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design principles, with experience implementing WCAG guidelines
  • Excellent problem-solving, storytelling, and communication skills, with the ability to present and defend design decisions to stakeholders
  • A robust portfolio showcasing end-to-end UX work, including research, strategy, and execution of complex digital projects.
