About the role

  • Provide supervision, guidance, and evaluation for assigned prevention staff
  • Support prevention coordinators in delivering training, education, and technical assistance to community coalitions and organizations
  • Assist in selecting and implementing evidence-based prevention programs aligned with community needs
  • Promote best practices in prevention, including the Strategic Prevention Framework, across staff and coalitions
  • Observe and support staff in coalition engagement, training delivery, and community-based work
  • Coordinate training opportunities, including training-of-trainer events for prevention programs
  • Provide direct education and support to community coalitions and partners as needed
  • Support coalition development activities, including agreements, funding applications, and reporting updates
  • Review prevention messaging and materials to ensure alignment with best practices
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop work plans, training strategies, and department-wide initiatives
  • Participate in Prevention Resource Center meetings, trainings, and statewide collaboration efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or a minimum of two years of prevention or community development experience required
  • A valid, unrestricted driver's license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required
  • Missouri Prevention Specialist Certification within six (6) months of hire date
  • Enjoy working directly with communities and building strong coalition partnerships
  • Are passionate about prevention programming and evidence-based practices
  • Have experience facilitating trainings or supporting group-based initiatives
  • Thrive in roles that combine leadership, coaching, and community engagement
  • Are motivated to support long-term, sustainable change in the communities served
