About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor and manage the financial aspects of grants and contracts
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements, financial reporting, budget restrictions, and allowable costs
  • Maintain accurate records of grant-related financial transactions
  • Prepare and submit financial reports to grantors and funding agencies
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Provide financial data and analysis to program leadership and the finance team
  • Assist with grant budgets and financial forecasts
  • Monitor budget performance and provide variance analysis
  • Work with program managers on budget adherence and potential financial issues
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200)
  • Prepare for and assist with grant audits
  • Track and report restricted and unrestricted funds
  • Prepare and submit invoices and reimbursement requests
  • Manage grant and contract financial closeout
  • Assist with internal controls related to grant management
  • Process grant-related invoices and payments
  • Manage grant receivables, invoicing, collections, and reconciliations
  • Collaborate with program leadership, finance team members, and stakeholders on grant administration
  • Communicate grant-related financial information clearly and concisely

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 1–2 years of general ledger experience
  • Preferred 2–3 years of experience with grant billing
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Demonstrated passion for social and racial justice
  • Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
  • Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-paced, all-hands-on-deck environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with people from diverse personal and professional backgrounds
  • Current vaccination status consistent with CDC recommendations when in-person work is required
