About the role
- Drive bookings and revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities, developing innovative sales strategies, and closing deals to meet targets with a focus on identified strategic accounts.
- Stay informed of emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and market growth opportunities.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate strategic partnership, alliances, and joint ventures to expand the company’s market reach and enhance its product offerings.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing business development team, providing guidance, support, and resources to foster professional growth and achieve collective goals.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams including engineering, sales, marketing, product development, contracts, finance and program management to ensure alignment of objectives and synergy in all business development efforts.
- Assess risks associated with new business opportunities and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard the company’s interests and financial well-being.
- Engage with key stakeholders including executives, board members, investors, and industry partners to communicate business development initiatives, progress, and outcomes.
- Drive the preparation, generation, delivery and negotiation of key proposals for identified strategic accounts to include investment business case, Pursue, Bid and Submit decisions.
- Manage multiple key accounts simultaneously and maintain up to date entries in reporting/tracking systems such as SFDC or MS Dynamics.
Requirements
- A U.S. Citizenship (required); visa sponsorship and permanent residence not considered
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance or related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.
- Deep understanding of ground assets supporting SATCOM and related mission needs
- Proven success in winning U.S. Government contracts and navigating acquisition cycles
- Extensive network within the US defense industry and end user community.
- Strong connectivity to the satellite communications, radar, EW, COMINT/SIGINT communities is a plus.
- Experience leading large pursuits through identification, qualification, and capture phases
- Domain expertise in space operations, satellite communications, and ground infrastructure
- Executive presence and ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
- Willingness to travel 30%–50% or as needed to be successful.
- Willingness to put in the time required on nights and weekends when necessary to win.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time to support periodic tradeshows or events.
- An overwhelming desire to win.
