About the role
- Supervise business office policies, billing, collections, and administrative duties
- Oversee facility Business Office Manager (BOM) activities to ensure timely, accurate, and complete billing
- Perform accounts receivable reviews with facility staff
- Assist in identification of obstacles to collection goals and help address them
- Assist Executive Director in developing plans to improve results
- Monitor timeliness of closing activities
- Review clearing accounts to ensure accurate month-end closing
- Review and approve write-offs prepared by BOM after ED approval
- Supervise training of staff and assist with developing annual training plans
- Perform audit activities with respect to Resident Trust Funds, Medicare regulatory requirements
Requirements
- 5 years previous experience with nursing home billing required
- Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance and Managed Care billing
- Ability to make independent decisions regarding billing, collection, and other related matters
- Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to oversee staff
- Previous supervisory experience required
- Experience utilizing computers, including familiarity with spreadsheets, written analysis, and automated computer systems processing.
- Good verbal communication skills, including ability to discuss matters of non-compliance with non-financial staff.
