Key responsibilities & impact

Set the technical direction for the Identity Services platform ecosystem
Guide a team delivering reliable, secure, and cost-effective end-user computing solutions
Shape the roadmap and strategy for team products and services
Mentor engineers while remaining hands-on in the codebase
Champion engineering principles, design patterns, and delivery quality
Design, build, and improve secure, repeatable CI/CD pipelines and automation
Apply AI tooling across coding, testing, and support
Help engineers adopt AI tooling effectively
Build platform services and support tools delivering measurable business value
Lead transitions to target architectures
Identify emerging technologies aligned with the Group’s strategic direction
Promote knowledge sharing, documentation, and reusability
Integrate risk management and secure engineering principles into technical decisions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Experienced engineer with deep, hands-on experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and automation tooling
Secure delivery practices integrated into CI/CD pipelines
Full lifecycle platform engineering experience: design, build, and run
Strong understanding of testing and operational readiness
Strong scripting or development experience with PowerShell, .NET, Bash, or Python
Working knowledge of identity services, including Active Directory and Microsoft Entra
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Ansible
Experience with AWS services
Experience with containerisation and orchestration, including Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with observability tooling, including Grafana and Prometheus
Ability to influence technical direction through evidence and relationships rather than formal authority
Ability to provide effective feedback and mentoring
Ability to collaborate across functions, teams, and geographies
Ability to manage competing priorities and complex production challenges
Ability to integrate risk management and secure engineering principles into decision-making
Understanding of responsible AI tooling use
