About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Work with designers to review Figma designs through an accessibility lens
- Define accessibility build requirements for web and app engineers to apply accessibility semantics, properties and behaviours in code
- Perform Web Content Accessibility Guidelines v2.2 level AA conformance testing and assistive technology review of web and app pages and provide accessibility sign off
- Collaborate with the rest of the digital accessibility team to ensure our advice and approach is correct and consistent
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience in specialist digital accessibility roles working directly with design, technical and business roles
- Experience using assistive technologies, settings and adaptive strategies across PC, Mac, iPhone and Android devices
- Strong knowledge of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) v2.2 and WAI-ARIA markup
- Experience using accessibility testing tools
- A knack for explaining digital accessibility to any audience in plain language
- The ability to diagnose code-level web and native app accessibility issues and give recommendations (HTML & ARIA required, iOS SwiftUI and Android Jetpack Compose strongly preferred, React preferred)
- Confidence and ability to work independently and autonomously
- Proactive, pragmatic approach and a clear, adaptable communication style
- Experience working in large and complex organisations (preferred but not required)
- Experience working with web and app component design systems (preferred but not required)
