About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- designing the end-to-end experience of AI-enabled software development from code authoring and review through to deployment and operations
- shape how engineers experience internal platforms and AI-enabled workflows
- accountable for the holistic design of Engineering tooling, SDLC workflows, AI Powered Engineering interactions, and Platform as Product experiences
- create a unified experience vision across AIPE, SDLC, developer tooling and platform surfaces
- reduce cognitive load and workflow friction for engineers
- validate design decisions through behavioural and productivity data
- lead qualitative and quantitative research with engineers to assess trust and transparency in AI-enabled workflows
- define experience success metrics in partnership with Technical Product Owners
Requirements
What you’ll need- Extensive experience as a Principal Designer in complex platform or tooling environments
- Strong systems-thinking capability and experience designing internal developer platforms or enterprise tooling
- Deep understanding of: Developer workflows, AI-enabled tooling interactions, Platform product models
- Demonstrated ability to define experience vision across multiple product surfaces
- Strong research leadership and synthesis capability
- Ability to influence senior engineering and product stakeholders
- Experience working in high-complexity, ambiguous enterprise environments.
