About the role

  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of CommonLit’s digital literacy program, instructional approach, and professional learning offerings
  • Create and lead trainings for Professional Development facilitators across teams to ensure effective implementation of CommonLit’s live professional development
  • Observe live PD sessions and provide timely, actionable feedback and coaching to contract facilitators
  • Lead professional development with partners as needed, including traveling to lead on-site at schools, up to 20 days per calendar year
  • Improve and execute systems to ensure smooth operations of PD facilitation coordination
  • Collaborate with Sales and District Success teams to understand the needs of schools and districts
  • Contribute to the ideation of new products and learning experiences that support CommonLit’s mission, vision, and strategy
  • Contribute to the knowledge management, systems, and operations of the Professional Development team
  • Contribute to larger department and organization strategy, supporting other teams with projects as needed

Requirements

  • A measurable impact on student success as a teacher and/or instructional leader
  • Exceptional ELA/literacy content knowledge and an understanding of how adults learn
  • A track record of successful facilitation of professional development for teachers
  • Experience working with underserved communities
  • Strongly Preferred: Experience as an instructional coach
  • Strong entrepreneurial spirit and eagerness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strategic thinker, self-starter, with strong time management skills
  • Strong attention to detail, the ability to balance several complex workstreams, and a desire for feedback
