About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support core People Operations functions with a focus on compensation administration, employee relations, HRIS data management, and culture initiatives.
- Partner closely with senior People Operations team members,
- Gain hands-on experience while providing accurate, responsive, and employee-centered support.
- Report to the Director of Employee Engagement & Relations.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Candidates must live in the United States.
- Willing to travel to attend twice annual Common App Retreat.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in a human resources role.
- Strong interest in developing deep Human Resources expertise, particularly in compensation administration and employee relations.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow.
- Ability to ask thoughtful questions, accept feedback, and apply learning quickly.
- Basic proficiency with Google Workspace: Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.
- Ability to learn HRIS systems.
- SHRM (SHRM-CP) or HRCI (PHR) certification is ideal.
- Advanced HR degree (e.g., Master’s in HR, I/O Psychology, or related field) is ideal.
- Additional human resource experience specific to compensation and/or employee relations is ideal.
- A passion for higher education is a plus.
