About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support core People Operations functions with a focus on compensation administration, employee relations, HRIS data management, and culture initiatives.
  • Partner closely with senior People Operations team members,
  • Gain hands-on experience while providing accurate, responsive, and employee-centered support.
  • Report to the Director of Employee Engagement & Relations.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Candidates must live in the United States.
  • Willing to travel to attend twice annual Common App Retreat.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a relevant field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a human resources role.
  • Strong interest in developing deep Human Resources expertise, particularly in compensation administration and employee relations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, self-starter mindset with a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Ability to ask thoughtful questions, accept feedback, and apply learning quickly.
  • Basic proficiency with Google Workspace: Gmail, Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.
  • Ability to learn HRIS systems.
  • SHRM (SHRM-CP) or HRCI (PHR) certification is ideal.
  • Advanced HR degree (e.g., Master’s in HR, I/O Psychology, or related field) is ideal.
  • Additional human resource experience specific to compensation and/or employee relations is ideal.
  • A passion for higher education is a plus.
